Didn't know about this, so I went and checked. Sure enough it's been rubbing and the wire is damaged and that's with just a little over 2000 miles on it. Looks like the wire will need to be replaced, so should I put a sleeve over it or a longer wire to avoid this problem? Tried turning it, but it didn't seem to help much. I'm more inclined to do the sleeve.

First I heard of this also , I didn't notice any rubbing when I changed the wires out to the red SE wires. I will double check when I get back to the house. Thanks for posting

Thanks for reporting this. Since I didn't buy a 14 model and only the 15, I wasn't active in this area when the first thread was posted. I know they work hard around here to keep duplicate threads off these forums.

Don't turn it.

If you read my post... BEND the terminal. It is just a light piece of metal inside the boot, and I assure you, it will bend. Don't bend it back and forth... but bending it once won't hurt anything.

Okay I will try that. Must have misread it and I went and turned it to see if it would clear. Thanks

Did anyone replace the wire or just leave it with the rub mark in it?

No. Even if there was any bare metal it would still not do anything to the inside of the tank. The spark, if any, would be on the outside at the point the wire and tank intersect.

Depends on the size of the divot, mine wasn't that big but not a rub.

Dealer did it under warranty.

Question Not Quite A Recall List . . .

A silly question, but . . . where is there a list of 'known issues' that I can look at for the purpose of taking early correction against? This doesn't seem to rise to the level of recall . . . Is there a list of 'not quite a recall' with corresponding recommended fixes? I have a 2015 Ultra Ltd. Fortunately, the clutch master cylinder recall doesn't apply to my motorcycle.

Mark!
