I put on a set of DK Fl-vied-10s. Set them at 50% and the bike runs great.
Best $100 I spent so far. Check their site to get an idea as to how well they work.
I'd say less than 1 out of 100 ever have an issue with the stock tensioner.
I've ran hundreds of thousands of miles on the stock tensioners across 6 Harleys. Never had an issue.
You may be right, but I guess I'm one of those one-in-a-hundred, then. When I took my primary cover off at 62 total miles, my primary chain was extremely tight at room temp. I know enough about mechanical engineering to know that that ain't right.
Personally, I believe that those tensioners have a basic design flaw that's present in ALL of them.
