Odometer switches, but the total miles is all that displays
So as the title says, yesterday I was checking my annual miles (I always reset my Trip A for the yearly total, and my Trip B is reset at every fill-up), but when I clicked the odometer switch, the total mileage on the bike (it's a 2015 Limited) is all that is displayed in each trip setting.
Has this happened to others? I've seen threads about the odo switch failing outright, and I think there was a comment by someone where it would go into DIAG mode, but a restart got it back to showing the trips, but I can't find anything that covers what I'm seeing.
I'm calling the selling dealer (I bought it in April of 2016 with 3303 miles) tomorrow to see what they'll do for me, but was curious if there was something I could do myself.
Please advise...

The worst part is that I haven't ridden in rain in a couple weeks (TDY for most of AUG), and the last wash I was careful to keep the hose away from the inner fairing/bars. Granted, the bike was put into service in September 2014 (a new '15 MY bike), perhaps they sorted out the switch issue by now?
My next thought (after the upgraded forks) is to do the lighted switches in the spring before I get back on the road (Upstate NY can be tough for riding over the winter). But if it's a design issue, I would think the lighted switch packs suffer from the same design oversight. We shall see.
