Exactly what I am experiencing. Going to have the dealer check it out since it is still under warranty. Was told it may be a compensator issue by an ex HD tech.

Same issue here on my 14. It left me stuck once. Pulled into a parking lot at night and adjusted my new headlight. Headlight was on without the bike running for maybe 5 minutes. It did tried to crank, then did that pause (like it always does), then wasn't enough to crank fast enough to fire.

That's kinda what I've been leaning towards also. I just can't see why a battery can't last more than 2 years, especially here in ND where I can only ride 5-6 months out of the year. My bikes live in a heated garage and the tender makes its way to each bike. I have 4 bikes and two tenders. The battery in my deuce lasted 6 years. I may be buying an anti-gravity for my 14SGS before next riding season, hopefully that can solve this

I had the same problem with hot starts on a BMW I own. The problem was ultimately diagnosed as being increased resistance building up in the wire connecting from the battery to the starter when the engine was hot. As a result, enough current couldn't be delivered to the starter to cause it to spin up. The resistance reduces as the wire cools.
BMW issued a service bulletin that installed an additional wire (a second wire) between the battery and starter connections that enable more current to flow when hot. It wasn't a recall because all bikes weren't doing it, but the repair immediately solved the problem, and it has not re-appeared.
You might want to get a volt-meter and check the current being delivered to the starter during hot and cold starts. If you have a drop off on hot re-starts, it might be an easy fix for you too.
