Default Hazy Daymaker Headlight

Is there anyway to get the hazyness out of a DayMaker headlight? I just noticed that mine looks kind of hazy or cloudy. Not crystal clear like the aux lamps. It doesn't look like moisture. Kind of looks like an old halogen light assembly on a car after its gotten hazy, except this looks to be on the inside.

If there's a repair, I haven't seen or heard of one. The unit is sealed, so there isn't any way to get to the inside to remove whatever that is that causes the haze, which is not moisture. I've heard it's a desiccant of some kind.

Must be a really common occurence. Two of my friends with dressers have the same problem with their daymakers.

I know there have been a few cases where guys were getting them replaced under warranty and then there were those who were told by some dealers that "they all do that." I finally bought a take-off from a forum member because I got tired of looking at mine.

There is a small rubber plug on the back. Remove the plug, put it in an LOW temp oven with the unplugged hole facing up, oven needs to be at it's lowest setting. I prefer to heat the oven til it gets to 160-180 degrees or so then shut it off and put whatever I am drying out in there. It will dry out the moisture. I have used this technique on dozens of car headlamps and those are plastic. Might take a few cycles but it should work just fine. Don't forget to put the plug back in when your done.

My off brand unit has the same plug with instructions that state to leave plugged into wiring and run the light with plug removed for 30-60 min until dryed out

As I said earlier, it is not moisture. It's some type of powdery desiccant. I saw a video of a guy that disassembled one and there were two small bags inside.
