While I was in Vegas I was going to have Fosgate system 4 speakers/amp installed with AX5000 but did not see Fosgate there so didn't settle for J&M or other brands. When I was searching around to see who in my area is trustworthy with installation and found a shop that recommended AX7000. So I ordered one, it'll be here next week and I will start with just head unit with 4 Fosgate speakers, 2 x 6.5" and 2 x 6x9" to see if that head unit will provide enough sound out of it if not I may have the shop wire my 300watt Fosgate I currently have t to power the rear 6x9" speakers or may just go with Fosgate 400watt amp. Shop was thrilled to use me as a first bike just using head unit with built-in amp so I am excited

Just order one for my 2018 SGS. Fathead says it will ship by the end of October.

Sync 3Dms Limited - thanks for the response. That is my concern. I talked to the shop in the DC area and they answered most of my questions - but did not respond when I asked about the CM and intercom. Was really interested in this - especially wanted the android auto so I could use it the way I do n my truck. Still not willing to give up my CB and intercom.

Perhaps some day I will go wireless for the intercom - then, it may not matter anymore. Still, I am hoping that someday, someone will just come up with a Sync 3 system that will simply convert my current bike to accept android. Ford, for example, has a pretty simply conversion - cost $50, to convert some of the older model screens to accept android.

That is really cool stuff. I assume much less expensive than the WAY overpriced and under featured Boom?

I'm not going to rush out and buy one even though I would love to have Android Auto but nice to know there is an alternative in the event the Boom goes boom!

As for the CB I never use it and we hate to plug in. The wife and I use Sena when traveling and otherwise we just listen through the speakers and she whispers in my ear. So no deal breaker there for me at all.

For you guys that have ordered how much are they? $$$$$$$$$$

Thanks

Well they're saying delivery will be late October, which actually means sometime next spring.
$599 isn't to bad for a system that is so much better than the Boom. The two main things I like is the anti glare screen and the fast boot up.

I assume you loose the ability to see your oil pressure?

I like that it is 100w x 4 and 5amp preouts

I’d like to know a few things.

1. Does it work when wearing gloves?
2. How bright is the screen in daylight? Is it better or worse than the boom?
3. Is there a night mode?

1. Does it work when wearing gloves?. Unless you have a special touch glove, it doesn't work like our touch screen on our smartphones.
2. How bright is the screen in daylight? Is it better or worse than the boom? Huge improvement over Boom and previous version of AX5000
3. Is there a night mode? It will through smartphone connection, meaning if you have a night mode setup on your smartphone it'll display it on Sony screen when it's connected.

You can find most of the specs here LINK

I am not seeing where it it waterproof or resistant (screen and buttons) on Sonys web site.. In fact if you look at the user manual it says to keep liquids off of the display.
But everyone is advertising that it is, I have one on order....guess I will see.
