Default Garage Door Opener

I need some help. We bought a 2022 FLHTK Apex in February of this year. I had my dealer install the garage door opener and have come to find out that the opener is not compatible with my Liftmaster high speed, low drag opener. I’d like to find a reasonable work around that will allow the installed one to work with my current opener. Thanks!

Don’t you have to program the opener to the Liftmaster receiver?

I had to do that with replacement remotes.

Look on You Tube on how to do it.

If it's a MyQ opener then I'm pretty sure Liftmaster has a WiFi-connected opener available with a carplay-friendly app.
Otherwise it has two pins on the main opener (drive unit) that you can wire buttons to, that cause the opener to engage when they're closed with a switch. That's exactly what the H-D opener does: it simply acts like a wall switch to close those two pins. For some reason the MyQ stuff doesn't have this at all, which is probably to lock out aftermarket accessories. (There are lots of cheap WiFi 'buttons' with carplay-friendly apps for any opener with two contact pins on Amazon.)

Try the following website:

http://www.creativeaccesssolutions.com/

They offer several adapters including a plug n play wireless adapter for the Harley-Davidson garage door opener

I've been using this company for a few years now. Self contained.

I wish I was smart enough to figure this out. I have a MyQ and haven't seen any way to make this happen. I've searched until my head hurts.

I have a MyQ door. I just say Hey Siri, open the garage door and it happens. I think it works with the home app on the phone.

Are you saying there are not 2 electrical connections inside the MyQ door opener, that if you were to "short" across the 2 electrical connections, it would open or close the door?

As I recall there was some kind of hub that the MyQ company had that would integrate the door opener with the Home app and an icon would show up in CarPlay, but it's no longer being sold. I currently just use the MyQ app on the phone, but it can be a PITA. Siri would work fine when I have a FF on, but would rather have an icon on CarPlay for it. Do you have a hub of some kind linked between the door and the phone?
