Default Will a Freedom Shield cure the gap problem?

I noticed that the Freedom Shield is thicker than all the rest. Just wondering if that added thickness will compensate for the bowing of the batwing when the standard 1/8" shields are screwed on?

Screwing up to the end, you can get the middle like this (Freedom Shield 11" / SG 2014)

Then on the sides, if you keep 1 turn before the end it looks like this:

I did not feel there was much space left, but still enought IMHO for water to go thru. Under neath you have the back of the headlight and that is almost all waterproof.

Not sure about the impact of the Freedom Shield as I haven't gotten mine yet, but I just installed the windshield trim bar and that helped a bit. Still has an obvious gap.

The problem appears to be the radius of the outside fairing to the inside fairing is different. This then is a mold issue which requires new tooling. Good luck.

I've rode in some serious downpours and haven't had issues with inner fairing soaked with water,I'd bet you have no more water getting in there than on previous models, and this is my 4th.IMO

Freedom Shields are the best. I have the 8" dark smoke on mine. It doesn't completely remove the gap but it's significantly better. You have to know it's there or look for it to see the gap.

+1 Freedom Shield. Just installed mine in conjunction with the windshield trim. The gap is ALMOST completely gone. If I hadn't noticed it before, I wouldn't notice it now.

Freedom Shields are awesome as is the owner, John. Great guy, easy to work with. Tried both the 5" and the 6". 6" in definitely better without being too obtrusive and ruining the look of the Street Glide. Very pleased with my choice.

I have a feeling Freedom Shields is going to get a lot of new business specifically because of this issue. I ordered one last week, and they are so backlogged with orders it will be at least another week before mine is shipped.
