Default Wild 1's 577 and dealer issues

I'm holding off delivery of my 2014 Limited until the dealer can swap the stock bars to the 577's.

They have ordered the bars, but won't order cables and lines until the bars come in so they can measure exactly how much extra they need, i.e. +4"

I'm calling BS, as I believe they are backed up in the service department and this is their way of managing the work. At this point they can't tell me when I can expect my bike, (at least they have taken it off the showroom floor).

I know the W1's site says you can do it all with stock cables and hoses, except for the heated grip lines.

I prefer the extended lines so they can follow the bars. If you have added the 577's to your Limited, can you tell me how much over stock you went with cables and hoses. Then I can forward the info to the dealer to speed this along.

thanks
brian

I can tell you I put 578s on mine and that clutch line (2014s don't have any cables) needed to be relocated a bit just to fit and the brake line was just long enough. I added 4" NAMZ wire extenders which it needed. If' you are going 12.5, which I have done on a couple other bikes, I'm thinkin the 4" longer lines would be a safe bet.

Actually the Parts Dept should have a book listing the line lengths and +2, +4 etc.
I've done the 12.5" with stock lines but am looking at adding extended for added insurance.

41800321 is the mid upper brake line in Black Chrome
41800348 is the Front Upper also in Black Chrome +2" I believe
41800332 for the lower lines if you wanted them to all match

37200044 is the +2" black chrome clutch line.

These are straight from the update book Harley sent to the dealers.

Simple solution. Order the cables and lines you want from another dealer. That way if they don't fit to your satisfaction the dealer you bought the bike from can't be held responsible.
