When I have a phone call incoming, it pops up on the radio. According to the manual, it should display the contact name in addition to the phone number. However, mine only displays the phone number. If I answer the call, the contact name is displayed as "Unknown". When I look in the call logs on the radio, it correctly displays the contact name. My contacts are also correctly downloaded from my phone (already tried a refresh). Do you guys get correct contact names when a call is incoming?

 

Yes, I do. Maybe your phone's directory structure is not what the Infotainment system expects/needs for proper display? The compatible phones list isn't very big & odds are, most of us are using phones NOT on that compatible list...

 

I had an Iphone 4 & now have Iphone5S & both listed contact names on incoming calls.

 

I have an iPhone 4S so if a 4 works, mine should work. Guess I'll have to play with it until I figure out the magic combination to get it working.

 

Figured it out. It is apparently specific to the contact that is calling. I had my girlfriend in my contacts with three numbers:

iPhone ###
work ###
mobile ###

I removed the last one, and the contact name was then displayed when she is calling. Clearly, this is a bug in the radio.

 

I have never had an issue...

But I don't talk on the phone when I'm riding, either....

I can, however, see who is calling when I hit ignore.

 

Got a better solution for you, don't turn the blue tooth on and you won't even have to hit ignore.

 

How is that a better solution?

I like leaving mine on just for the auto return text that tells them I got the text and leave me alone because I am out riding!

 

I leave mine on for emergency contacts. If my wife calls me five times in a row within a minute, I know something is going on that needs to be addressed. The day she abuses that to ask me to pick up some milk... the bluetooth gets shut off.
