Default NaviExtras Toolbox

Can anyone get NaviExtras to do anything. I can't get mine to recognize a USB key. When I click on login it tells me to insert a device which I already did but is not recognized.

There is an option to backup the map on the Infotainment unit but if you plug a USB cable into it and into a PC NaviExtras doesn't recognize the device.

What's the purpose of the POS software?

Mine works fine. Take your USB to the bike and go to setup, nav and export for update. I don't remember the exact options but you are looking for the export for update option. Boom will plug some files on to the usb. Take the usb to your computer and open naviextras. It should recognize the usb.

You need to have a tutorial to understand what you need to do & in which order. Currently the newest North America map db is 2013 Q2. My 14 has 2012 Q2 map db installed. I'm not about to spend $150 to update from 2012 to 2013 map db, so I haven't gone any further than installing the Toolbox & copy the Nav info to a USB stick (that does get recognized by the Toolbox software). Or spend more time in trial/error discovery mode.

I went through all those same frustrations during my learning curve, so I can sympathize...
