I think I was one of the first to have my bags painted, check out page 8 of this thread for all the details and lots of pics. It's just automotive base/clear, I pulled all the hardware and stripped the bags into bare shells, scuffed them and used adhesion promotor for plastic and painted them just like any other automotive part. Came out great and are holding up perfect too. Bike sits in an unheated garage all winter too, got -35 here for about a week this year and no problems. I traded a Milwaukee buffer for the job but still have some credit, I figure cost about $150-200. You'll likely want to strip the bags yourself, that's the time consuming part a lot of painters aren't going to want to do.

I could ask the guy if he's interested in doing more, I'm sure he would. I'd be willing to strip and reassemble the bags for a small fee and set it all up. My guess would be total around $250-300 plus shipping both ways. If interested let me know.

Are you dealing with wind buffeting?
Is that a Harley rack/mount for the tour pack, what is the part number? I would think it can fit a Low Rider too.

Most buffeting is coming from around the tank. I have a few designs in my head for some lexan deflectors to mount on my engine guards.

That rack is the HD tour pack rack for the Sport Glide (I think the Sport Glide has its own specific rack and it hugs the rear fender pretty close). I don't have the part number as I had it installed before I picked up the bike new. Also, it required the quick-connect spools (whatever they are called). I bolted my existing Givi adapter plate to the top of the tour pack rack. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...-adapter-plate

Sport Glide and Low Rider share the same rear tire and seats can be interchanged. It's not noted as such but wonder if the tour pack can fit both bikes. An excuse to go to the dealer to check it out.

Today's ride convinced me that I need a proper horn - cagers seem to be getting worse by the day with the phones. Anybody mount something much louder than stock, that's easy to install and fits well?
