Finished assembly of my tour pack. Had to modify the upper bracket to work with my tour pack and move it a little further forward. Would like to build a new upper one that moves another 1.5" forward and centers the weight better but presses right up against my back. Overall I'm pleased. Need to redo the powder on the cheap old luggage rack too but I think it came out better than I expected.

I finally figured out how to get the teardrop tool box installed. A little drilling, some creativity with washers and bolts, and voilá, got the bracket to fit! I had a chrome one on my 02 Heritage and when I traded it in and got a 19 I realized I really missed the toolbox. I removed the passenger pegs and used that bolt hole since I ride solo.

Is that the Elite Touring Innovations bracket? Looks nice. Paint came out killer.

Yes, its well made and if you are running a dry box like a pelican its perfect. On a factory tour pack the studs that come thru from the plate inside the pack are just outboard of the upper bracket. I cut up an old mount from a touring bike and sandwiched the plates together to get a rough draft of placement. Will build something better before my trip to stubborn American rally. And thanks on the paint I'm thinking of pulling the lid back off and adding the stripes to match the rest of the bike.

Not a fan of the bracket, or that it bolts to the trap door? It's pretty common to use that location to support the exhaust bracket. I don't recall reading any issues with the trap door leaking etc.

hoping it wont create issues over an extended period of time and abuse. otherwise. change gasket and just make a bracket off the frame.
