Default 1157 housing front turn signal

Hi, i own a 19 fxbb and i've bought the rogue rider industries turn signals before receiving the bike (saw multiple videos where people put those turn signals directly on stock housing). But i have received my bike with 1156 housing. Is it possible to change them for 1157 ones and where can i find those?

I'm guessing the US light assemblies are 1157 and can be ordered from the US.
I would get the whole assembly including wiring and plugs to switch with your front turn signal set. Might have to get a dealer flash for the running light section to work.

If you replace the 1156 with 1157 you'll need a ignition on only source of power for the running light part of the new socket.
The 1156 is turn only, you could tap the new wire to your "positioning" light wire.

Hmm, yeah you're right, i don't think the wire is already here on my european bike.

I'll check if i can tap the new wire around the support thingy (caddy?) under the gas tank without pulling appart the whole ****ing bike.

I really don't get it why harley makes so much modifications, just for a "regional" turn signal.

Thank you for your input.

I did this for my UK FXBB for the same lights
I ordered the US turn signal housing from HD
The lights will have three wires as opposed to the UK two
Black = ground
Purple = signal
blue = running

If will need to route the new light cable through your bars and into the wiring harness in the neck

the existing signal cables will be going into molex sockets
the top set is for the right and bottom is for the left
the wiring will be
3 = black, 2 = purple, 1 = blue (4 remains empty)
so the only difference there from ours is the blue on pin 1

I hooked mine up. The left was working fine, but the right only had amber. I thought it was my wiring. Turns out that I had just over tightened the light on the socket... wasted lots of time on that. So make sure you check that as a trouble shooting step

If you get any problems, let me know and I’ll post pictures

If you don't mind, i'll be happy if you can send me 1 or 2 pics on how you put the new wires on the harness.

Already changed my handlbars, pulling the right side again already makes me sweat (so tight with a 90° angle on my tbars), but nothing a bit of grease and patience can't overcome. But i'm less certain about the rewirering (never done that).

Okay so on the left side of the neck, you will have a rubber cover that is hiding the wiring harness. Take this out

I wanted as much room as possible, so I opted to move the tank up to enable full access to the harness space. For this you just need to remove the connection below the tank and the two bolts at either end of the tank that holds it in place. I then just lifted the tank a couple of inches up. You don't need to empty the tank or anything for this

Inside of the harness you will see that it is split in two main sections, up and below.

Both the upside and downside will have a connector that currently holds two cables for UK (black and purple). Remove these from the sockets

You will then need to 'depin' the cable from the molex plug

Here is the best video showing this process

Once you have pulled the new cables through your bars for the US turn signal housing, you should have three cables (black, purple, blue)

You will need to put a pin on each of these for the molex connection

These are HD-72910-11, Terminal, socket 20-22 AWG (5)
But you can get them here instead:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Harley-Da...72.m2749.l2649
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Harley-72...72.m2749.l2649

Put the pins on the new cables, and push them into the molex connector
Pin 1 = Blue (running)
2 = Purple (signal)
3 = Black (ground)

then just push the plugs back into the two sockets
bottom for for the left
top is for the right

Take your time crimping the pins onto the wires, they are fickle *****

If the lights don't come on correctly (E.G, running light is amber), play around with the LED inserts that go into the signal housing and make sure they are at the right tightness. Do this before double guessing your socket wiring...

This picture was helpful to me, I used a small safety pin to lift the tang..

Is there not an ignition switched live in each of the LH and RH switch clusters you could pick up a feed from - save running all the way back?
