Default Softail rear shock

So I'm thinking of upgrading the rear shock on my '23 street bob, not looking for a performance shock, just some added height in the rear and longer travel so I was looking at the "Tall Rear Shock" part no. 54000294 as listed on hd.com vs the OEM part number for rear shock on the FXLRS/FXLRST/FLHCS part no. 54000138. Does anyone know what the difference would be between these two? My guess would be spring rate since the LRS/LRST/Heritage are heavier bikes but wondering if there's any functional difference. I thought it was going to be the same part number but when I looked it up I was surprised to see that the tall shock is a completely different number. Which would you choose? I'd love to hear from people who have some insight or experience with either of these "upgrades".

Thanks in advance!

No difference, if you look at Harley’s video for the tall shock you will see it is the 138. It is a nice upgrade from the 44 mm shock. It will raise the back 1”

I have a lightly used tall shock I can sell, it's off of an FXLRS. PM me.

I did it on my LRS, it's worth it, the comfort is much better, you can see the difference between the two shocks...
I will do the same if I buy a Street Bob...

I’m tall with a 36” inseam. I have a Sport Glide with the shorter shock. Despite forward controls I looked like a grasshopper sitting on a beetle. Plus good curves had me dragging boot heels.

I swapped to the longer shock And added the Bung King shock spacers that together raised the rear 2.25” Same ride but improved geometry. Plenty of available angle plus a little quicker turn in. Sits better looks better. I’m very pleased.

The quicker turn in is another reason for wanting to switch out the shock for the taller one. Sounds like I'll be going with the tall shock when I come across one locally or order through the dealer in the spring. Sadly it's almost time to put her away for the winter here in the great white north.

I took mine off my 23 ST. It's sitting in a box... I might even be wrong, I thought the new STs had the tall shock (13"). Is there a taller one?
