Since the D2 Koso digital gauge supports TPMS does that mean if I add TPMS sensors to the rims I will be able to see tire pressure on the gauge? Or is there more to it than that? If not does anyone have recommendations on how to add TPMS? Ive seen the cheap Bluetooth ones that you can monitor using your phone but Im guessing they are not very accurate.
Probably have to call/email Koso to be sure, but my suspicion is you cannot just add TPMS to the rims and have it all work. I believe the Koso is going to read what the ECM provides. So if the bike isn't already TPMS capable, adding the Koso will not change that.
My Dad uses one of those valve stem TPMS Bluetooth monitors. It's accurate to within a couple of lbs. Not too bad if that's something you wanting to have at your fingertips.
I just contacted Koso and the the ECU does need to support TPMS so its a no go. Bummer. I will try the Bluetooth ones. Thanks.
Hey man,
Here's a couple of reviews, if youre an Amazon shopper for those bluetooth sensors.
Currently use this one, Fobo. very happy with them and the app, would definitely recommend. I just flip on bluetooth, open the app and ike 20 secs itll catch a fresh read from them both. Ive taken them off in the winter storage months to save batteries. 2 summers, havent had to change them out yet. In spring soon as they go back on, they update right away. Very handy to just pop it open instead of putting a gauge on the tire before a ride.
Dont use this leepee brand, waste of money. App is horrible, sensors are horrible. Took over an hour to get them connected, and would only update every 20 mins or so. I stuck them on a lawn mower with like 5 psi, took forever for it to recognize it was low.
I'll second the Fobo. They have been quite handy. Just got back from a 3700 mile trip with them on. Super easy pressure check. No issues. I found them to be within 1-2psi of a gauge.
