Amp question. 2 ch 4 ch.
I'm not 100% sure on the colors off the top of my head.
My buddy has a 2012 Manual. My bike is a 2011. I would think they are the same. I think the XM is the only thing I do not have as a option. once I rip it all apart I should be able to know for sure.
Now don't let the 6 3/4 scare you off. Same footprint as the 6.5. They sound very good with the PA and more importantly you won't blow them up. Unhook the old speakers and tie off the wires. Use 16 gauge wire and run the speaker wires straight to the speaker side of the amp. To keep it simple use the back channel for the pod speakers and use the front channel for the fairing speakers.[/QUOTE]
Got started now have a family thing. Have power ran from battery. Fuse is out on positive line at the moment. Made room on top of HU to put amp. Ran 14 gauge wire to the rears under tank. Is 16 gauge ok in the front? Also on the kicks. for the rear just used 4 screws provided and screw into pods? Do you know if that's particle board and needs pilot hole, or just self tap the puppy's in the pod? Will do more tomorrow night and finish Tuesday. I hope. Removing the tank was pretty easy and really helped hide and run the wires very nice. Thanks

I normally drill a pilot hole. Makes it much easier to put the screws in. The self tappers will damage the material on the outside of the pod. Not very much. But I like everything to be clean. Looks like you are on your way to a great sounding system!! If you have any questions or need any help fire away!! Keep us posted!
Got it installed last night. Sounds great. May have to redo the gain adjustment. With the gains off they are at 8 oclock. I used a Van Halen CD. And set them at 10 oclock. I had read not to use a MP3 player or Ipod. because the equalizer would fudge the settings. Well my iphone is pretty much all I use. And it distorts at high levels of volume. I may just turn the volume down on the Iphone that may do it. I just took it for a quick ride when I was done and did not think of that at the time. Plus it was after a few Captain and Cokes!
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Mine has 3 settings AP-F-HP. I have it on F=full. I guess I can play with it. My understanding was to set it to full so I would not loose anything since I do not have a sub. Thanks
depending on your speakers, you might want to "cut" out 50Hz and lower. most speakers cannot produce anything below 40-ish any way. wasting power as well as potential damage of speakers (again depending on the speakers used).
So that would set setting it to LP correct?
No Sir. You want HP if you are going to manually set the crossover. Set to HP and turn your dial to 70-80 HZ. The alternative is to run full or flat. This setting lets all your notes pass through. The LP setting is for subs.
