Default xm through bluetooth?

Howdy folks. My brother and I have older Ultras, his is 91, mine a 92. The stereo systems aren't much good anymore so we're wondering how to upgrade. I'm not much of a techie, but wonder if we could get an xm reciever, hook it up to a bluetooth transmitter, and listen to it through a bluetooth equipped helmet? If anyone here has done it I'd sure like to hear the details. Thanks!

Sirius has an App, so if you had bluetooth capability you could listen off of there.

Thanks, but I don't have a cell phone. Just want to figure out a way to have an XM radio something like this: http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/xm...4P8aAlNs8P8HAQ broadcast on bluetooth to a bluetooth equipped helmet, avoiding the stereo system on the bike. Appreciate your response. As an old fart I don't understand all this new technology, but am willing to learn.

Most everything you find is going to be a bluetooth receiver, not a transmitter. So most of the little pucks are going to be doing the same thing your helmet bluetooth adapter would be doing- receiving audio. There are transmitters out there, for example, the Sena SM10 is designed to take audio input from some source (in your case XM), and pump it to a connected bluetooth receiver (your helmet). Amazon is selling it for $114 right now. Being Ultras, you have the CB I imagine? This device would not allow you to be wireless in using the CB to chat. But with bluetooth-equipped helmets, you may have intercom features available depending on the helmet's features.

I have Sirius & use the app on my cell phone. Before that, I used my Stiletto portable Sirius radio, with it's FM transmitter output turned on. I kept it in the trunk, & since it was basically right under the bike's FM antenna it worked ok. You set the satellite radio to whatever frequency is quiet, & set the bike's radio to the same station.

Only downside is you can't change channels. To do that you'd have to mount it on the bars.

That's the kind of info I was looking for, thank you. My fear is getting all the components only to find that they won't marry up and work together, seems like there are different bluetooth frequencies or modes.
