Default I-Phone volume thru Rushmore HU?

I was wondering what the opinion of the gurus on this site is as to whether the sound quality of downloaded music played via blue tooth from an iphone changes if you have the volume on the phone at full vs some lower level.

Has anybody really tested it to see if playing at full volume on the iphone affects sound quality of playback music or not?

Your best sound quality is gonna come from a USB stick recorded in the MP3 format @ 256 kbps (Kilobites per second) or higher.

Thanks Gan but most of the time I will end up using the iphone since I am basically computer challenged but itunes literate. I am not even sure how to create an MP3 much less to make sure it is formatted correctly. lol
Do you know if the iphone volume affects SQ?

Not a Guru in any form, but my experience with this is you can get into the distortion range at full volume. I generally run mine at 1 step below max. Sound is good at that level. SQ always better when hardwired though.

Don't have the Rushmore either, just basic observations using Bluetooth.

Don't use max. 3/4 to 7/8 range is safe zone.

Since ur iTunes literate u might consider an iPod nano or similar that is dedicated for your sled. Plug it in and leave it. Great library, album, song, playlist organization and higher quality than Bluetooth.

There are several variables that will affect the sound quality. Too many to mention here. What I do know is only one EQ can be used at a time. If you have your HU equalized and are planing to use your Iphone to set EQ. The HU EQ needs to be flat. On the other hand your Iphone needs to be flat if you are going to use your HU for EQ. The Iphone volume should not affect EQ if the HU is set up and all the settings on the Iphone are flat. If you could only turn your HU up to 3/4 volume without distortion. The same will be true using the Iphone.

Swomak has an answer for this issue. Seen it come up on road glide.org several times can't find the answer at this time.
