I am posting this in case anyone else runs across this problem. I just upgraded my speakers and after I put everything back together I have no radio reception, just static on all stations. So I'm thinking 2 things, 1) I didn't connect the antenna securely on the back of the HU or 2) the new speaker's magnets are interfering, because I removed the rubber around them to get them to fit in the pods. Well it turned out to be something else. In my tour pack there is a power plug, and in it I had a mini USB plugged it. When I unplugged it the radio reception was restored.

 

A lot of usb power adapters seem to make interference. I tried four different ones to power my cell phone and finally gave up. Now i just use the Verizon cig cord adapter. I guess it's either better quality or shielded better than the others i tried.

 

same here, just use the cig plug, use the storage compartment for other things. you can file down the jaws on those handlebar mounted phone holders to fit behind the brake master cylinder for the phone.
