At the same time. I can wait. Get pieces here and there. I do have all winter to mess with it.

all the hoodoo is impedance matching so the system is balanced. if you drive a 2 ohm speaker with a 4 ohm amp, you will over drive the output amp which will cause distortion and heating and possible failure.
now if you go the other way, drive 2 ohm amp into a 4 ohm speaker, you will not over drive the output but your high frequency response will be lowered.

A good component set will definitely blow away what you have now. Sounds like the DD AT28 or B30 tweets might be too big (but I'd confirm that for sure), but the DD AW6.5s and a good tweeter will do ya good. Either way you go the Hogtunes amp should go away. I did go back and see you might want lids, but for now i would come up with a budget to make your fairing the best it can be and run with it.

So aside from the Focal tweeter anyone else have good luck placing a tweeter in these tweeter pods?

If your only concern is the hole's that are already drilled in the fairing for the pod. Harley makes a real nice dummy pod to replace the Hog tune pod. If it were me I'd still go with the Pro Audio set up in the fairing, B3 horns in the gauge holes and PRV neo's in the fairing. Doesn't get any better than that if your goal is loud and clear.

Would think long and hard about PAs and horns for a 2 Speaker / fairing only Setup.

This is why I'm here. Looking at different options.

Also, where do you buy the B3s?

Pricing everything. Those prv speakers for a hundred bucks. Was surprised how not expensive they are.

Side note. I'm still running the factory radio. Will upgrading make that much of a difference?

Those PRV's are $100 EACH, not for the pair. I will agree with T, if you're only going to do the fairing I'd reconsider the PA's, but if your goal is to add lids or lowers later then yes go with the PRV's.

That makes more sense. Why would the PA's not be a good 2 speaker setup? I do plan to add the lids. Just hate the idea of color matching the Merlot Sunglo. (i've got close, not exact). Looking for some amp recommendations.
