Default Biketronics BT1005X and cruise control

My 2012 FLHX has the Biketronics BT1005X mod to enable me to use Sony head unit while maintaining normal handlebar audio controls. It works very well. I have no ideal where it's installed or how it works.

My bike doesn't have cruise control and I am contemplating adding it for long rides. It requires replacement of the right handlebar switch unit with one that has the cruise feature.

My question is - will this screw up the audio handlebar controls in any way? Will the audio controls work the same with the new switch unit?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Has no effect on it at all. Curious as to why your bike doesn't have cruise as it was standard issue.

First I wouldn't think that Harley would make a different harness for cruise and non cruise bikes meaning that the plug for your hand controls are the same for both cruise and non cruise bikes. Second the same hand control module works for both cruise and non cruise bikes so there should be no problems there. Before I would spend a on of $$ on a cruise system, I would look into a throttle lock to just tighten down your throttle enough to hold it in place as your going down the road. I have used these for years before there were ever cruise controls on any scooter. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the info
No idea why it didn’t come with cruise control. I bought it used and it doesn’t have the dual switches on the right hand switch
