Gannicus, what's the difference between the DB652's and the MM652's? They are both rated at the same RMS and Max wattage and I see that the MM's are $100 more a set and the DB's are rated at 40Hz → 22kHz and the MM's are rated at 35Hz → 40kHz but I don't know what that means.
They sound better . That's why they cost $100 bucks more. The MM series are Polks high end speakers. 35Hz to 40KHz is the frequency range the speaker will play. 35 is the low end. (Which means excellent bass for a 6.5) 40KHz is the high end.

Ok well i'm down to 2 different speakers. The Kappa 62.11i and the Polk MM652. Wonder which is better? The Kappa's are rated at 75 watts and the Polk's are rated at 100 watts RMS. Price is $99 for the Kappa's and the Polk's are $150 a set.

Just for $h1ts and giggles, if I was to get a 3rd set of speakers to the lower fairing's, would the amp be able to power them? The amp is rated at 140 watts RMS per channel by 4 channels.

Not a problem.

If you are referring to the PN4.1000d I am running four AD Designs Cx621s on the rear channel and two WDX6 Motos in the fairing and it can get louder than I want it to.

When I stated that I wanted to add speakers in my lowers that amp was recommended to me by several folks and I am glad I got it. I left the system running a couple of times while doing other things with the fairing cap off and the amp did not even get slightly warm to the touch.

Another thing I can say is I decided early on not to go TOO cheap on the speakers. I've never paid as much for a set of speakers as I did for those ADs but I'm glad I did. The company has excellent service too. I am also well pleased with the Motos in the fairing as well.

Good to hear that the amp will push 6 speakers fine. However, paying $300 for per pair of speakers just isn't in my bike parts budget right now.

I just realized the kappa's are 2 ohms...

Just my 2¢ but the Kappas will have more presence at highway speeds than the Polks but the Polks will hit a bit harder. And the Kappas will take 150 watts all day long.

That's why I started this post. I'm looking for everyone's 2 cents. I mainly ride at highway speeds so them having a better "presence" appeals to me. I have to admit the Kappa's are looking better and better. Was just wondering about the them being 2 ohms. All the other speakers are 4 ohms. Also, this amp is rated at 250 watts RMS by 4 channels at 2 ohms.

Only issue with 2ohms is that it negates the ability to run parallel on those channels. But you can still mix n match. 2ohms up front and 4ohms paralleled in the rears and lowers or vice versa. I like for my fairing to have their own channels though.

Oh I definitely agree. Want the fairing speakers to best the best and have a full channel to themselves.

I'm thinking of going with Kappa's in the fairing and then Polk's in the lowers and rear speaker pods.

Infinity has a new Kappa 6.5...the 62ix $130 on amazon..every Kappa has got better! The Soundstream 1000 D puts out 250 rms at 2ohms..stay on the low side with the gains if that's the path you choose! Kappas in the front ....Polks in the back should rock with that amp!
