Default Speaker lids worth the effort?

Now that you guys have got me started chasing this damn unicorn, are the lids worth it for the effort and cost. I searched the forum and it seems like a mixed bag of better at low speed/parking lot etc. So what say you gurus?

At speed you wont benefit from the rear lid bass regardless of setup. You will be able to hear the mids and highs but no lows. You WILL benefit from lowers as they are in the front and can be heard at speed. Just some food for thought.

If you have ran 6x9 in the lids and didnt here any lows something in your set up wasn't right.
I ran DD VO 6X9 in my lids and could here them 2 up at 80 mph with out a problem and provided a good fill with the rest of my system.

Maybe you had your 6x9 underpowered??

You could hear the low bass at 80? I can hear the mids and highs but the lows are gone at 80 and I don't know anyone that can hear the lows at that speed from 6x9's in the lids. Then again, I'm old and cant hear like I use too.

It all falls back to the same thing about being subjective and were you apply your sound stage. If you are using a DSP or using the crossovers on the amp in play
You set your system up for pimping in a lot of touring for miles on end.
Everything is different on your set up so it all comes back to can someone use the same DSP file as the next I would say NO because I set my system up for all out road play at 80 mph and you set up your system for parking lot pimping so no 2 systems will be set up the same.

With that setup, your best bet is another amp in the TP and a set of 10's in the bags. You already have the mid and highs from the 602's just missing the lows.

I agree as no system is the same. I always set up system for riding and could care less about how it sound sitting. I have just not been able to hear lows at 70-80 do to the wind. I've enen had 8's in the lids and 10's in the bags and still not able to hear them at 80. The wind just takes it away.
