Boom Box Info System 6.5GT Going Blank?
I have a 2016 Street Glide Special. First time weird thing happened tonight (5/21/18). Has anybody experienced this. Started bike, driving away, and then audio system (Boom Box) just went dead. Pulled over, shut bike off and one several times, nothing. At that point I just figured somehow I must have blown a fuse. Road all the way home no system at all; nothing worked. Pulled in my garage, shut bike off, and went to pull the left side cover off to look at the fuses, but before I pulled the cover off, I turned the bike back on, and noticed the screen glowed from a backlight. I was puzzled so shut the bike off, and turned it back on, and the system booted up normal. Tried it again, about 5-6 times, and booted normal each time like nothing ever happened. Now confused as don't know what the problem could be and when it would do it again. My 2 year warranty is about to expire next month, then I am stuck holding the bag after that.

Quick, get the extended warrenty. Just kidding. No I'm not.
If something is plugged into the USB port on start up the first thing the head unit does is look for file up dates. Then reads the unit. I found it takes twice as long to boot when I have something plugged in at start then plugging it in after. It may have hung up looking for the file updates but now that it knows what it is you may not have another issue.
Also, may depend on how your memory stick or what ever is plugged in is formatted. Ext 52 does not work on mine so had to turn my 64gig stick into a 32gig by formating in fat 32 for my bike to read it properly.
