04 cvo Electra glide radio questions

Hey Lip, as in Philip, that's old....Radio Sound...they even made a cassette player version...whoa...anyway, your options are slim....HU drives 2ohms speakers, which you can upgrade to 6-1/2 Kappas, or Hogtunes OEM replacements....Other than that, upgrade amp to drive more power or replace HU....No to plain...lol
When I had my OEM Radio Sound HU, I upgraded to Hogtunes...better, then a mini amp, forget the name (Arc) and 6 1/2 hertz speakers....much better....then completely went to system now....omg better.....Good luck and post up later...Best, D.

So I just bought an 04 cvo Electra glide off Facebook for a hellish good deal, now I’m starting to have questions that I can’t seem to find answers for, specifically about the capabilities of the stock stereo. I don’t know and can’t seem to find out from the google if I can get a SiriusXM unit that will work through the stereo or not. Also I have no clue where to start with speaker upgrades but I know these are pretty weak at 70 on the interstate. Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!
I suggest to replace your OEM s poo speakers to Hogtunes or Kappas or totally gut out system for much upgraded tunes...i.e., Bluetooth, Sirius Satellite radio, USB....everything I have on my plain Jane glide...huh..
Good luck again., D.

I’m looking into changing out everything. We went for a little cruise last night and I played a cd instead of the fm radio and the sound quality was much better but we also stayed off the interstate. Might be one of those winter projects unless I get some extra cash. Probably going to do 6x9 kids and 6.5s in the fairing and maybe add a tourpack with pods later on. Any head unit recommendations?

i run the old radio sound head unit. while i know that it is not anywhere near as good as a quality aftermarket head unit, it is still not worthless. with the correct line output converter and a dsp, it can sound very good and intergrate Sat radio, if you are willing to spend for the hardware. it's less money and work to use the aftermarket HU, but not impossible. just not cost efficient.
