i have been experimenting with running the 8's in mono and the 6x9's in stereo and running the different pairs in and out of phase. for my set up running one pair out of phase with the other is giving me more low end hit power. having a dsp to tune with makes the job much easier, but it can be done without, but eq from the dsp, and band pass crossover set up becomes very important.

Well, I am still debating the DSP unit with the simple 4 speaker setup I have now... but if I decide to go with some 8's in the bags, then I definitely will be getting the DSP. It's really kinda driving me nuts right now because I can't tell EXACTLY what my crossovers are set at.... it's just a guesstimate using math and dial position cause the dial only has starting, midpoint, and ending labeled. My OCD and need for precision is starting to get the best of me on this one....
do yourself a favor and just get the dsp, it will make your tuning life so much easier and give you room for expansion in the future, i really see NO downside to having one, even with just a 4 speaker system, the individual eq capability makes it worth it just by itself to me.

That's pretty much the conclusion I have been slowly coming to over the last week..... leaning towards the DSR1 because of price and Bluetooth ability all in one.
