I have one, really like it so far. The sun will wash out the screen. I bought a anti glare film that helped but it is still not as clear as the stock unit was.

Has any one switched to this head unit ? I have a 14 SG standard and have pretty much upgraded it beyond the special with the exception of the stereo head unit. Wondering if any body has this unit and how they like it ?

You can change songs, volume.
You can use google maps and mirror phone.
You will get far superior sound quality without the use of a DSP to correct Harley's Drastic EQ curve.
you significant other can't talk to you through the intercom
you can not search a artist with the thumb controls.
You can not zoom in on the maps with the thumb controls
You can not see the screen that tell your parade mode is activated, your oil PSI
Juice

So to make sure I have it correct here (I'm a blonde sometimes) - the Sony unit will work with the handlebar controls without any modifications or add-ons needed? I had an 05 EG and when I upgraded the stereo I needed the Retro Radio kit - I figured if I wanted to upgrade the HU and speakers on my 16 RGS I'd need that or something similar.....

Once installed you actually program what you want certain buttons to do IE.. Source, volume up, down, advance/retard tracks, phone buttons, Att volume.

It came with everything needed for 450$ to include the interface module (If that’s the right word), to use hand controls??
