Default Pre Rushmore amp install

Has anybody been able to mount the the DB drive neo4 in the fairing of a pre Rushmore year ultra, without it hitting the outer fairing cover? I have mine mounted on top of the factory radio pushed all the way back and it is hitting the outer fairing cover.

If if anyone has been able to make this work I would appreciate it for some ideas.

That amp is bigger than the SS pn4.1000d that barely fits under the hood. Take the headlight out and check clearance. I have a 2012 and the Soundstream is tight.

You will probably need to trim the back of your gauges to get it to slide in a little further.

yeah i had thought about that but didnt know if it would affect the mounting of the gauges or cause them to shake.
