So with the Mmat does the speaker placement matter much ? I have no problem modifying pods and swapping locations if needed.

I had them in lowers before, you will have to take the rubber ring off the magnets. Helps make them fit easier.

If you put those MMats in the lowers the Motos will drown them out.

Those Mmats are in the price range of where I would want to be. I will prob give that setup a try, when it’s time for the 8’s again I have a tuner in mind who will set me up with a DSP and good tune. Sold my previous setup because I had plans of stepping away from Harleys for a while due to work.

Without a DSP I would suspect this as well. I never thought of putting my Motos in the lowers because I finally broke down and got a DSP to tame them. It would be interesting to see how a bike would sound with the Motos in the lowers and PA speakers in the fairing. Might be a cheap way to get a good sound.

To set up the bandpass for the PAs on the cheap you could set the low pass filter with the amp and get a set of FMODs from Harrison Labs at whatever high pass point you want.

SBates08,
are you saying the Motos in the lower position will drown out the MMats in the fairing? Only asking because I am looking for a complementary speaker for my lowers with 601cx in the fairing. Using the MD4110 amp

Saying just the opposite. If the Motos were in the fairing they would drown out the MMats in the lowers.

For a amp I’m running a Focal FDP sport, and a Sony headunit, also I’ll be running a set of 8’s in the bag just not sure which ones yet. Last year I ran the GZ yellow baskets may try something different this time around just to switch things up.

I mostly listen to hip hop and r&b if that matters, just trying to think of things that may be asked.
Damn good question. I actually like the DB Moto G2s in my fairing, but unfortunately they out play everything else in my system unless I turn them down to balance out the system.
Like others have mentioned, it may work out quite well with Mmats 601.cx in the fairing and the Moto's in the lowers. I currently have the Mmats in the lowers but planning to swap them around over the winter. Also planning on trying out a set of DB WDX8'S in my speaker lids, hoping they can produce the same kind of volume/output from my speaker lids to overcome the sound loss at freeway speeds.

BluesMan when I finally got a DSP and could tune the Motos in my fairing they blend well with everything else. I don't know if you have one but knowing how overpowering my fairing speakers were before the DSP it made me a believer.

One thing I like about the Motos is they can take some heavy EQ settings without distorting. It took out the brightness and warmed them up well while keeping a little bit of their punch.
