Default Boom 1 Speakers/Hertz Amplifier

I watched a video from Volunteer Audio. They have seen CVO and non-CVO motorcycles from the dealer that had Boom 1 Speakers installed without an amplifier. Bikes upgraded on the sales floor. They sell a Hertz 600-watt amplifier that is a plug and play. Has anyone here upgraded their bike using the Hertz amplifier and the Boom1 speaker's combo? Are you satisfied with the combo? On the video they referenced an Ultra Limited with the GTS radio.

I don't think you're going to find a person in the audio section who gives a thumbs up for boom anything

The Boom 1 speaker is made by Rockford Fosgate. The Rockford Fosgate mark is on the speaker it between the electrical terminals. I think the Boom 2 speakers have the bad reputation. I just finished the Hertz amplifier installation and still need the bcm flashed but what a difference. With the volume position set to one, and bass turned down all the way off. More volume for sure. I don't want to blow these speakers out. I will evaluate after the reflash. My plans next year are the Hertz speakers. $479.00 a pair just screams next year.

I did use Volunteer for a complete 4 speaker set up on my 2022 CVO RGL. Hertz SP4.900, 2 Hertz SX190 NEO in the fairing and SV190 NEO in TourPak. You will love those speakers. They are great people...stereo is loud and clear at highway speeds. Includes flashing the radio to flatten EQ and get Car Play without WHIM. Could not be more pleased with Volunteer.

That's what I keep hearing. My buddy has a Street glide with the Hertz speakers and a Diamond amp. 800 watts. Amazing clarity. He has the amp turned way down. Curious to see if anyone has paired the Boom 1 speakers with a Hertz or another amp rather than the overpriced Boom amp.

Having an "amp turned way down" doesn't mean anything. The gain dial on an amp is not a volume dial.

No, no one runs an aftermarket amp with Boom 1 speakers. The only time I've seen it is with Boom 2 5x7's, but you need a dsp and cross them high.

Running Boom 1 speakers is just a complete waste of time and money. They are made to run off Harley head units, that's it. And even then, they don't last long, especially with their horrible EQ curve. They can't take any more power than what a stock head unit can provide, so adding amp is just going to blow the speakers.

You'd be better off just handing over your money to me instead of wasting it on a good quality amp,.

FYI, there are great motorcycle based 6.5" speakers out there for less than $479.....

The amp that has been adjusted to reduce the output is my friends 2018 Street glide. Not mine. The techno research bcm reflash for my bike with be this spring. My previous bike was a 2013 Street glide with Boom 1 speakers in the fairing and front lowers. Single boom amplifier. It sounded pretty good for what it was. This boom combo in my old Street glide sounded better than the 2 speaker and one-amp Hogtunes I had removed. Future plans for this bike will be the Hertz speakers. I realize all the different opinions on sound.
