So kind of in a dilemma. Bought this 2020 SG from a family friend and it has the fathead cycles setup with the Sony 7000 hu but they left the stock speakers in the fairing and added Kicker csc65’s to the lowers. The difference in ohms (2 and 4) was making the hu cut out and act overall unhappy. Originally i was gonna just get another set of kickers and have 4 matching speakers but now im thinking if just putting 2 good speakers in the fairing and ditching the lowers all together. Was considering the Rockford stage 2 speakers. They fit the sony amp’s specs perfect if u run 2. I also have my whole stage 2 boom audio setup from my last bike (16 rgs). Was considering running those speakers just off the hu but i guess id have to splice in hpf’s for the tweeters? Never had to do that. I also dont know how good theyd sound. The magnet on those speakers is barely bigger than the stocks. Advice? And no an external amp aint happenning yet unless i can somehow jailbreak one of these boom amps sitting here to function like normal lol.

 

Have you thoughts about Infinity Kappa Perfect 600x in the fairing? I put the 900x in my saddlebags to replace the boom 2 5x7’s and they have made a difference. I suggest this because it sounds like you don’t want to spend a ton of money but want descent sound. If you go this route turn the bass down! Good luck✌🏼
