Default 1989 FLTCU Sound System

After 22 years, the original Premium Sound System in this ole bagger is giving up the ghost. I've been searching for a suitable replacement and can't seem to locate one that goes back to HD's intro into the luxury tour glide. Any advice on what fits and will work without changing anything other than the radio is appreciated.

Working on a buddy's '91 Tour Glide Ultra and need to upgrade the sound system too, none of the standard retro radio vendors show anything before '96. Anything you find out would be very helpful indeed.

I sent an email to biketronics about a harness for my 90 FLTC and they told me that it was no longer on their site, but that could still make one on a custom order basis. The harness will allow you to instal certain auto head units that have the jacks for steering wheel controls into your bike and still use the handlebar controls.

Unfortunately Biketronics will only support back to '94 now, nothing else is available anymore.

I had a 1990 Ultra and had to send my radio out to have it repaired at a shop in Kentucky many years ago. They where listed in the Harley parts book for your model year.

There are several for sale on Ebay that are the same style HD radio which are not cheap but would allow you to retain the stock look if that is your desire

Heres a website to the company that was listed in the parts manual and that fixed my 1990 Ultra radio for me
