Turbo is mounted too high....pipe from head unit to intake is not going to be straight.

The rear tubing has too many bends in it...looks cobbled together.

The key is to have ALL piping be SMOOTH and straight.

If you're not careful....it'll just look fk'd up.

Just my .02

Yup, the top pipe will have a bend in it coming down to the throttle body so that the pipe can run level to everything else. Plus that will keep it further up away from the downpipe and turbine housing to keep a little more heat out of it.

Down the road (next winter probably) I am going to put a front mounted intercooler on the bike. I will reclock the compressor facing down with a short pipe going into the bottom of the intercooler. The exit will be in the top and the pipe will run right accross the top of the compressor in almost the exact same place as it will be run now.

Obviously this header isnt a maximum effort peice, for that both primaries would have to be the same length. The pipes being different lengths hurt the performance about 1000% more than that little bend in the back pipe. Luckily these modern engine management systems can be calibrated for each individual cylinder, or this system would'nt work very well.

You'd probably say these wouldnt work either, but 10.74 @ 125.9 on 93 octane and street tires in a 4000lb truck says otherwise. I built these myself for the 6.0 gen3 sbc in my Syclone. Turbo systems are a whole different animal to your standard N/A setups.

I'm talking about LOOKS. Harleys are all about looks.

I know what you're saying. I have a Vortech'd mustang.

Good job.
Inter-cooler?
type and size turbine?
CFM turbine produces @ 8 lbs boost, etc?
additional oil supply rather than internal supply?
finished aerocharger install late August, the hot rod loves the extra air.

Thanks. Its a 50trim t3/t4, if I remember correctly I think its a .63 ar on exhaust side. I am definitely going to do a front mount intercooler, but im saving that for next year.

I just took a look at those aerochargers. Pretty sweet to have a variable trim turbo. Porsche and some other manufactures use variable trim tubos on their cars. Gives you a turbo that can spool quick and then open up to keep from being a restriction. Its interesting that they are internally oiled like a supercharger.

Id worry about that with the amount of heat the turbo sees. Im sure they advise to change that oil often. Im feeding the oil from the oil press light port, and im pretty sure I'll drill/tap a fitting into the side of the cam cover for a return.

Do you have any pics of your bike online? I'd love to check it out!

Default turbo

recommend changing oil at 700 hours, thats a lot of miles.
heat issue may not be an issue has you will not stay in the boost mode long enough, THERE'S NOT ENOUGH ROAD or race track, etc. Bonneville 5 to 7 on the long course, with a few 1 mile tracks available. Maxton Mile, El Mirage, Texas Mile. Mojave Mile are available,
are you changing pistons for proper compression ratio?

you can check my hot rod out at www.raycwheeler.com
on u tube 2 wheeler racing turbo harley

good luck with your build.

Once the bike is painted black, you're good to go!
