WARNING: Ontario Water Falls Tours
Hey Folks!
The province of Ontario has numerous water falls, specifically in the area around and south of Georgian Bay.
I would like to issue a warning to anyone that decides to make a trip to “Walters Falls”. This falls is south east of Owen Sound, Ontario.
Fourteen of us in our riding club decided to take a ride, and visit Walters Falls, and take some photos. We were staying in the Blue Mountain area for 4 day club outing. Upon arrival at the parking area we were immediately met by the innkeeper at the site. There is an Inn, restaurant and Spa at this location, but I personally would never recommend it to anyone, unless you want to stay there and be treated like a second class citizen.(Suzie and I have stayed there once before) The innkeeper was very rude, and informed us that we were on “private property” and we must leave immediately! He said only paying guests are allowed to view the falls and neighboring Bruce Trail access. He continued to recite to us COVID rules and the such, which quite frankly had nothing to do with us.
So, we left.
This a word of warning to fellow Riders in Ontario. Take this one off your list of you plan on doing a water fall tour. It’s the easiest way to avoid confrontation.
This place has also been removed form the Grey County Tourism site and that kind of says something!
Cheers, Terry
