Trying to tune up a '95 WG

Cv site has been down. Been waiting to order a mixture set or ezjust since the weekend. If you want to try changing out a few things before you buy stuff I have a new mixture oring, needle and 42 pilot if you want to give those a shot. Tell me which needle you want, left or right and pm me an address before the morning and I'll mail it out. Up to you just an option if it helps

CVP doesn't list a phone number and continue to say they are down for maintenance.

Ya I'm at work now but I'll still send it to you tomorrow if you want to save yourself a couple bucks and try swapping the oring and needle. If that needle is the problem I'd think you could adjust this one and get it running fine.
Any luck checking the accel pump?
It's not letting me PM you either. You have to have 10 posts before it's active

kp... I just finished reading your "jetting" thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/evo-c...8-jetting.html and it sounds like you had most of the same symptoms as me. Are you saying that the final solution was a new ignition module?
Like you, I have two coils (one OE HD and one aftermarket) that measure 10.8k on the secondary and 2.9-3.0 on the primary. While both of these are in range, does that necessarily mean that they are "good"? There's really no way to test an ignition sensor and module for sure other than to change them out for something else. My bike has 23-year old OE ignition components installed. I don't mind replacing these things, but don't want to if not absolutely necessary. I have this secret desire to keep the bike as stock as possible just for the sake of it.
I also took special interest in the mixture screw having no impact at any setting, which means that fuel must be leaking through. I would love to find the root of this in my carb, which might explain the dismal MPG.
I still can't find a PM option, so I'm going to do some posting tonight.

No I had different symptoms. My cam sensor was bad which didn't fail like everyone else's it failed at high RPMs. You could pop the timing cover off and check the cam sensors condition I did that with the help of a few on a diff thread and it tested bad but I can't say I understood the readings I was getting. You can check your cam sensor using a heat gun and cold compressed air. Youd idle the bike then blast it with heat gun or hair dryer to get the sensor hot and see if it starts cutting out. Oddly mine passed the heat test. Also. When my idle mix ezjust fell out it ran more like your describing it was backfiring hard out the pipes and surging at steady throttle. It wouldn't idle at all though where I think you're still able to idle when it acts up.
