Default Ironhorse

I just traded for a 05 ironhorse texas chopper. Does anyone have one or know of any problems with them. This will be my first chopper. I currently have a 07 sportster. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Speedometers, bankrupt woes, unpaid warranty work, cheap gear boxes... As long as you don't ride it, you will not have any problems... Actually they are a great bike, but AIH was run into the ground by a bunch of Bozo's...

My brother has had an '04 Texas since...well...'04 and hasn't had any major problems. The funny thing is his speedo and tach started acting up last weekend but other than that he rides the **** out of it .Who needs a speedo anyway.......I haven't had one in years.
They're not my style and a little too pricey for me but all in all I'd say it was a good bike

Speedo is the single biggest problem, when it craps out, and it will, buy a Dakota if you need one, if your tranny craps out, buy a baker, they are decent bikes, we work on quite a few of them...let me know if I can help

I've been reading a ton the kast 2 years on choppers. There is a lot of negative info out there about AIH and quality. As the others mentioned speedos and tranny's and possibly some electrical shorts. But hey take it one step at a time. Post a pic of your bike. I'm sure its awesome. I love the looks of those bikes. As the other guy said. Get a different gauge if it craps out. Trannys are not that bad if you do the install yourself. Life's too short enjoy it!!!!

All the worrying we do about bikes and all it take is one idiot on a cell phone and its all over. RIDE.

Good luck with your new Ironhorse. I just got an 03 outlaw a few months ago and heard all the same crap....scared me to death. The bottom line is, take it one step at a time, if something does break fix it properly! The bikes are great bikes and a blast to ride. And a pain in the *** to clean...But every time I have taken my bike out someone has given me the Thumbs up, or their jaw drops open and they tell me "That is one gorgeous bike". My favorite is A guy on his harley pretends not to notice..
