Default Need help about Custom build..

Hi guys...

Need help over here..

Building a Rigid chopper from scratch.

Got this frame:

Now, the question I have. Is it possible to put mine Dyna Street Bob Twin Cam A engine into this frame???

Found this mounting plate: This rear engine adapter plate allows you to mount a Twin Cam A engine into a Softail OR rigid frame.. (TC 88 says the product info) but should work with TC96 aswell..

Is it possible, could this really work?!?! Why or why not...pros cons (exept for the looks, lack of oiltank etc.)

I'm guessing it would. If you are concerned with the looks, you could always coat it with a wrinkle finish to match the engine, it would help blend it in.

Nice frame, I've been looking at that same frame myself.
the case is the same for the 88 as the 96 so I would say it would be no problem.

You will need to go to a softail transmission obvously since the dyna trany won't mount in that frame.

My question is why would you want to gut your street bob for this rigid?
Why not just find an evo motor for it? Your bobber looks great, it would be a shame to trash it in my opinion.

Friendly advise.

Demon Cycles sells JUNK!!!!

Have the frame set up in a jig and gone over to assure straightness and don't be suprised if you to have to shim the hell out of the motor and tranny mounts.

Sandblast all the primer/paint off the welds and have a competent welder look at the welds. Most are crystallant and very poor penetration.

You'll have no luck dealing with them when you find out the frame is junk.

As far as swapping your drivetrain, don't do it. You cannot use the title from the Dyna anyways.

You'll need a FXST tranny and primary setup. Yes the adapter will work but it ends up looking bulky and cobbed together. Since the parts you'll need will end up in the $2 - 2500 range complete (my cost) you only need another $3k to put a stock HD motor in it and keep your Dyna together. There are drivetrain packages out there for $5k to 6K from several outlets.

Just don't use Demon Cycles. They are crooks. Do a search on here and you'll see all of the bad comments.
