sportster rolling chassis project
So I've been giving serious thought to getting a custom frame for my '87 sporty. Ideally what I'm looking for is a softtail chopper type frame with room for a 200 rear tire. I'd like to do a roller, just to get a decent front end and a 200 tire. I'm not looking for a raked chopper, but being 6'4'', I'd like to find something with some stretch in the middle. I've been looking on the internet, and there's not a lot of softtail stuff, but I would prefer that for handling and comfort. I'm a decent fabber, so it doesn't necessarily need to be sportster specific, but it would be better if it was. Hoping someone in here has done a similar project.

Check out CMH Frameworks out of Az.
I built a rigid sporty based on one of their frames. Here's a pic of mine.....

so, I think I do want to stick with my stock frame, seems to be the most cost effective solution. Here is exactly what I want to do
The whole reason for this is I'm 6'4'', I need more room, and eventually a bigger motor. I'd like to do an arched backbone, but I don't feel comfortable in messing with the neck of the bike, I'm a good welder, but I don't want to modify the neck if I can help it. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before on here, if they could give me some tips on where I should cut it.
