I work with Jonny goodson here at the school. He is currently at the build off. He has no longer works there but owns one and they are very sano looking. I am a less is more kinda guy. They are not main stream looking , but very pricey.
Did Jonny really punch the guy during one of the builds for TV?? He kind of says so during one of the interviews.

I like Russel's attitude on the show, its the A$$ behind the camera I can't stand.

My comments on attitude is based on a build off show I watched. He was dismissive of other styles and builders. It came accross loud and clear that he did not like any style but his. That's where I get my opinion from. He may be a great guy, approachable, but the lack of respect of other builders turned me off.

Personally, I don't like Mann's art, hate most of Arlen Ness's work, but I still respect their work and contribution to the world of bikes.

Good point.. All these builders do one thing.. "Make something unique and different (why it's called "custom").. I learn something about different styles when I look at the work from all these builders. Some I like, some I don't, but they're all something different.. Thank goodness. Mechanical art to go with the mechanical music from their perspective V-Twins. Where some bring flash, Russell brings stonch European utilitarianism to the machine.. Neither direction is completely right or wrong.. The difference between Stallone's "Awesome 50" in Cobra and the flashy metalflake and flames on some other 50 merc customs I've seen.. I dig 'em all.. Man I love a 49 or 50 Mercury.. Chopped or not.

I met Russell at a small bike show in West Palm last summer. He knew I wasn't going to buy one of his bikes, but he was very friendly and would have B. S. as long as I was standing in front of him.At least that is the impression I got. As far as his bikes,30.000 for a custom of that caliper does not seem all that high to me,compared to most of the other high end guys out there, and you can ride it .Just my 02 cents

Hey guys, nice thread going on here. I am not into any of the "theme" type of bikes. I think they are kind of silly IMO. That being said when I saw this bike.....It made me think of a work of art, I could see it in a modern art exhibit. Finest looking chopper I have ever seen.

I love the Exile bikes, and I have to say in a lot of ways I agree with Russell Mitchell, too many guys are doing the same exact thing. It seems like there are a few builders out there doing really original work, and everyone else is just doing slight variations. I did check out the sucker punch sally site, nice bikes. On the Mckay's site I saw some of those Mutant Buells, anyone familiar with them?

You can see the mutant at http://www.redneckengineering.com/mutants.htm I have always thought the confederates were really cool, I have heard they are insanely fast and handle like a sport bike, $53000 is a lot of money though.

ive seen some of Johnny Goodson's new bikes that he makes under his new company www.insanecustomcycles.com they have a similar flavor to the exile look. they are some of the sickest bikes i have ever seen. worth the look.
