Default Saddle bag lids

I attached my daughters helmet to my backrest to go pick her up today. Long story short the helmet shifted and layed on the top of my saddle bag for a good ways until i could pull over and adjust. The helmet rubbed a horrible spot on the top of the lid's paint. What do you suggest to pull the rub spot out with. I also have various boot marks on the lids from passengers getting on and off that will not come off by washing. I am open to any suggestions.

You could try Meguires Scratch-X it's excellent clear coat as long as the scratch is not into the paint. Most of the major auto part retailers carry it.

A suggestion regarding the boot marks...

Get a Mr.Clean Eraser... I use the white ones...they take off All kinds of stuff including tennis shoes from pipes, and don't scratch at all.

Surface marks can be removed with clay or a chemical polish such as Klasse AIO.
ScratchX (as mentioned above) should work if the are below the surface marks.
DO NOT use a Mr Clean eraser. They are not safe for paint. These Erasers are made from ground fiberglass.

I bought some of the clay 3 part liquid and used a small orbital buffer to apply. it took out most of the rub mark but if you look close you can still see it. it is not as bad as it was, but i would like to get it completely gone.

Go to an auto body / paint supply store and tell them your problem. They will reccomend appropriate rubbing compounds.

Or you could do as I said before, and get a softail. Not only would that solve your saddle bag problem, but it would also cut down on frying your legsbecause ofthose crossovers on the pipes.
