2014-15 Lowrider vs. Fat Bob: Which Is Better?
Are you getting more with the Fat Bob for the extra money?
Both have dual front disc brakes, 103 motor, and six speed trans. You get a little more seat height and ground clearance with the Fat Bob. The Fat Bob has a slightly bigger gas tank (5 gallons vs 4.7). The Low Rider has adjustable controls and weighs 40 lbs less.
Appreciate any insight.

Although I love the look of the fat bob, the low rider just made more sense for me. I thought the seating position was a little more comfortable and I couldn't see where the extra cost of the fat Bob came into play. That being said if money was no issue I might have gone with the fat Bob and changed a few things

I think as has been alluded to here already it boils down to rider size more than anything and mid vs forward controls.
I've been going through this decision for the past few months and after riding both I ended up getting the Fat Bob last week. I'm very happy with my choice.
I liked the looks of the Lowrider a little better and I could get it for a little less money, but then would have had to put money right back into it to convert to forward controls, for me eroding some of the savings. I like that the Fat Bob sits higher, and the seat is more comfortable. (I'm 6'0 32" inseam) I like the little LCD MFD at the bottom of the speedometer where you can select the gear indicator/digital tach - then it's where you can actually see it. The tach on the Lowrider down below the Speedo is a lot harder to look at while riding and you're taking your eyes off the road more.
The Fat Bob handling is amazing for a 700lb bike -- very nimble and feels like a much lighter bike than it is when riding it.
Around where I live there are quite a few 2014 Lowriders left but the Fat Bobs are all but gone. Dealers are discounting and 1500-2000 off sticker should not be a problem; especially on a Lowrider.

I bought a Low Rider in March. Was my first Harley and I didn't look at any other bike. The way I see it it comes down to looks and fit. Low Rider with all it's chrome is flashy, the Fat Bob has a more aggressive look. Low Rider has the mid controls, the Fat Bob the forward controls. In theory with the Low Rider weighing less it should be a little quicker. I test rode the Fat Bob last weekend at a demo day and didn't care for the forward controls. Like the OP I cannot figure out why the Fat Bob cost more. For me at least I think I made the right decision.

I sure hope this is the case. The controls of the LR fit me much better. I need mid-mount controls. If any local dealers in my area were to offer such a nice discount on a LR, I would get the LR for sure.
