Default Memphis Shades Gauntlet thoughts/opinions

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a 2008 Super Gide. Wanted something bigger for the highways and longer rides other than my Iron. I'm loving the way the Dyna handles the highway and the 6th gear is awesome.

So I'm looking to add a fairing to the bike to cut down the wind. I was hoping that some of you guys that have them can help me narrow down what works best. I'm a tall dude, 6'2". I was looking at the Memphis shades gauntlet.

Any advise is appreciated.

The gauntlet is a very nice fairing. It is very sturdy and the quick release setup is very functional. Mine wasn't high enough for my liking so I got a laminar lip. It moved the wind deflection just high enough for me at about six foot. If you want higher fairings buy a reproduction tsport fairing or a rifle.

I like it a lot. I'm 6'-3", and the Gauntlet takes take of the wind blast on my torso. My head is still in the wind, but with very little buffeting. The locking mechanism is very secure, and works smoothly if the mounts are adjusted correctly. It looks good too.

At 5'8 I wish mine were taller. It directs the wind right about to my forehead. Works decently with a helmet, but a lot of buffeting otherwise. If I was to buy another I would probably get a rifle fairing or one similar. The gauntlet looks great in my opinion but does little for protection.

I like my Memphis Shades Batwing it really cuts down the wind buffeting if that is your style. And it also protects your hands from the stuff that's in the wind.
