Anyone have any experience with this fairing? Looking for something to keep the wind knocked down due to some neck issues I have from a few accidents in my past. Jp has them for 150 and I lIke the looks of them but unsure how much good it would do.
I'm not looking to do a full windshield since it will be the opposite look that I'm going for so suggestions on fairings would be great.
I too am interested. Just picked up a new street bob and want to throw a quarter fairing on. I've heard good things about the Rifle Roadster fairing but I don't want to wait 10 weeks to get mine.
I've heard good things about the Gauntlet, but I went with the Conley's Tsport. Keep in mind for $150 that is most likely without brackets so double check.
the $150 is just for the Gauntlet, You'll have to get the mounting brackets too. I went with the quick disconnect, also $150. Installation is a breeze. 1 beer.
As for the performance, IMO it will depend on 2 things. What type of helmet you use and how tall you are. I'm 6'2" and with the shade in its highest position, the wind hits me right in the face. Takes all the pressure of my chest though, which is great at highway speeds. This isn't too bad when wearing a full face, but anything else and you're getting a lot of wind right in your face. But hey, thats why we ride bikes.
Thinking about getting this for my wide glide. My neck feels like it's being ripped off at times. I'm on 5 10 so maybe it will go straight over my head
I run the gauntlet, I'm 6'3" all torso so most of the wind is around my neck, however it makes highway riding and windy days so much more bearable especially at higher speeds, completely recommend it. I also plan on trying out the laminar lip for the 1/4 fairing to see if that takes all the wind over my head.
I have one that I use once and a while on my Fatbob. Like stated earlier, takes the wind off the upper body but still hits part of your face. I'm 5'10" and run a lower seat.
