29T pulley anyone?

29T pulley anyone?
Okay, first off I apologize if this has been covered before and I've missed it.
I'm looking for a little more jump out of my '01 FXDX, and I'm entertaining the idea of lower gearing.
(I do more city riding than hwy. I've got the stock 32/70 pulleys, a free flowing air filter, and 2 into 1 pipe - next year will be cams)
I've read Alan Summers excellent post about a 30T conversion and everyone seems to agree that it's well worth it.
So, if 30T's good, is 29T better?
(in a seat-of-the-pants way, not specific rpms)
Can you still use your stock belt?
Thanks in advance.

Well a 29T would give you a 9 percent change in gearing vs a 6 percent change for the 30T, and seeing you already have a 70T rear pulley that be a pretty "short" shifting set up. Experience has shown that a 2T change is fine for keeping the stock belt but anything more requires a new belt but not any specific feedback I know of on a 3T change....
Thanks for compliments, Alan.
