Your bike looks great in that light in your sig pic, is that purple? I think all that color on the bags makes it look great
The color is black with purple ice pearl ( pearl sprayed heavy)
In low light it looks black but the sun really makes the purple pop

I say go for it !!
I modded my bags myself with zero previous Fiberglass experience , then I built the facia / filler panel you see in sig pic ... Inner fairing was 3 rd fiberglass project . That stuff is so forgiving , need more add more , need less , sand it off lol .... It's cool too having totally one of a kind hand made parts on your bike .... Just do it brother !

That is some awesome work! What kind of foam did you use and what did you seal it with?

Just white styro foam ... Cut it into 1/4 strips so it would bend and contour ... Sealed it with 3 coats latex paint then covered it with a layer of clear packing tape

How did you get the inner and outer to mount together?

Top attaches with the three windshield bolts like all others .. The bottom I attached threaded rod to the outer and use chrome acorn to bolt outer to inner... You can see it in a couple of the pics .... Took a lot of though lol
