Default any chrome covers for lower forks???

My lower forks on my FXDL are stained and dull. Do they make any covers form them or any suggestions on cleaning them up? It's a grooved metal and not meant to be shiny, but they look bad. Not sure you can tell in these pix.any chrome covers for lower forks???-dyna2.jpg

you can remove them and polish them, you can install chrome lowers, or you can powder them. we have coated prob 2000 sets!

Looks like Kuryakyn discontinued them.
Unless you can find some NOS somewhere, you're going to have to go with www.thepowderpro.com

Yes they make covers & they look like covers. Bought a 97 Dyna that had some and that was the firrst thing I took off.
Clean, brush, polish, sand, paint, or powdercoat what you have.
Covers are really cheesy.

If those are 39mm front tubes on your Low Rider, there are lots of chrome lower tubes (not cheap covers, either) for either outright purchase or exchange on eBay...from around $150-$400

Or you can just take off your front wheel, brakes, and fender and polish them up yourself...takes a few hours with assorted grits of wet sandpaper and polish but you can get them looking nice without taking them off of the bike.

Just polish them

Start with sandpaper grid 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 - then polish with autosol.

Mine were really nasty so I started with 320, then 400, 600, 1200, automotive polishing compound and a buffing pad, and then finished off with Turtle Wax metal polish...looks great!

But you have to keep at it to keep it from getting all nasty again.

great info guys!! I thought I would have to remove them. I love to polish so this will work out great for me. I'm excited about this job. Spring is a ways off yet anyway.
