parts needed?
Jus bought a new to me 04 Dyna, couldn't pass on it. Great bike for a great price, Im considering swapping out the forward controls to Mids. This is my first Harley (and bike in years). I'm wondering if I can use any of the existing parts, and what I may need to do the job, I purchased the 04 manual and a very good friend is a mechanic and said he'd help.
Just looking to find out what I'll need. I talk to the dealer but they were very vauge about it and felt as though they didn't want to share a parts list, but did inform me it was a good idea to bring it to them. Thanks for any help in advance, and yes pix will come soon.
Thank you

Welcome to the forums.
Harley sells a conversion kit for that, I'm surprised (not) they wouldn't help you out! LOL
You can also get aftermarket kits that are going to be cheaper. They have had over 10 years at this point to make nice ones so investigate!
I'm not really sure as I have never installed such a kit but at least you can save your shifter, brake pedal and footpegs if your partial to the ones that are on the bike.
Enjoy your travels and ride safe.

Another way is either on the classifieds here or on ebay - I got a full mid kit on ebay for $150, new take offs. One thing you need to look for as some kits don't seem to include, is the internal shifter linkage.
Another good resource is Ronnie's harley, which has all the parts microfiche's online.

They were willing to help, but more so to do the job themselves. I like the shifter, brake and pegs, if I can utilize them that would be great. I looked at eBay but the kits don't make much sense to me, sorry to sound so green. I don't mind tackling the job, I just want to have everything I need in front of me before I do.
Thanks Guys,
