Default Brake rub

Hi all,

Quick question, I noticed when moving my bike around the garage that I seemed to have some slight brake rub against the front rotor (not sure about the back). I can hear it but it doesn't seem to be affecting my ability to move the bike so I doubt it would have a negative effect while riding. But I can't for the life of me remember if it was doing this prior to my fork upgrades where I removed the caliper and wheel. I know I put the wheel back in as per service manual, torque specs and such.

Is this normal?

Very light drag is normal in my experience. Just enough to make noise.

Any disc brake system is set that way, from bikes to automobiles to heavy trucks to trains and planes. Jack your cage up and give the tire a spin and listen.

Yep, if the wheel spins freely while slightly rubbing it's completely normal. If it quickly stops then you got issues and you'll cook your rotors and pads

A slight audible drag is possible and normal, however I personally prefer to disassemble the caliper, flush the insides, and clean the dust on the inner sides and around the pistons every year regardless of milage taken (just a habit).

It's not too time taking and quite easy to do.

I experienced that after cleaning this "drag" becomes lighter and, well, definitely keeps Your caliper well maintained.
