Yes guys, I am in Europe! The procedure is that when I import the motorcycle from US I need first to certify to meet EU standards and only then register. Certify means they need to check lightening, exhaust, emmision information etc. but they are not starting this procedure because they do not see that silly sticker on the frame. I heard that people from US removes it just because it spoils the looks and they do not need it at all.

sounds like he just needs the sticker for the vehicle weight & such info, not the VIn#,, the vin number is clearly engraved into the steering head & the motor so that shouldn't be a problem..

Maybe Harley can send you such a sticker then. I'm surprised that a dealer can't help you, they should be able to order replacement stickers, they just need to call corporate. I guess it is a law that the bike has to have the sticker and doubtful that the importers would let it pass with a home made sticker.

One would think a registered/certified Harley Davidson dealer could take a photo of the VIN on the frame then fax a request to HD headquarters or the HD rep for his area using the photo as a certified likeness to get the sticker. Unless this isn't on the up and up.......

I can provide all the documents to the HD if it would be possible, but I do not know which HD Dealer to contact. First registration is in Wisconsin. I emailed several dealers with my problem but still have no answer regarding this. I think I could manage to workaround this issue if someone could provide an example of the sticker. Would be 100x times simpler. Also if someone know some HD representative to contact directly that would be helpful.

i cant imagine why you would need that sticker seeing as the frame and motor as a number stamp.
maybe thats how they roll in the eastern block

i'll pass on taking the picture of mine though.
gonna try to photoshop and print a sticker are we?

First of all, he's in Europe and the "feds" have no jurisdiction there.

Second....If there are dumb laws on the books, someone, somewhere will find a way around them and I say "good for them".
Getting a fake sticker that looks like the real deal will be simple, once he gets a picture of one....It's been done before.
